History
1929 – Starting as a Steam Shovel operator at age 15 Mr. T.S. Freeland went on to start his own Earth Moving Equipment and Material Handling Company named Freeland Equipment Company. The business was and still is located at 1600 S. Caton Ave Baltimore MD, 21227.
1940 – Freeland Equipment Company becomes an authorized equipment and parts distributor of Shaw Box Cranes & Budgit Hoists.
1941-1959 – Freeland continues to become a licensed distributor for all major lifting equipment brands as they become available over the next 20 years.
1960 – Mr. T.S. Freeland steps aside as C.E.O. and entrusts his son in law Bill Geary Sr. to run day to day operations of Freeland Equipment Company.
1960 – 1993 – The passion to service his loyal customers needs drives Bill Geary Sr. to focus on acquiring access to all parts needed to ensure Freeland provides the proper parts on time and at a great price.
1993 – As the family business focus becomes hoists & cranes the company name is changed to Freeland Hoist & Crane.
2000 – Bill Gear Sr. steps aside as C.E.O. and entrusts the company to his son Bill Geary Jr.
2009 – With increased growth and demand Freeland Hoist & Crane opens a second location at 776 Jernee Mill Rd # 121 Sayreville NJ 08872.
